Helphire Group PLC is using BlueArc's Titan and Mercury. The INI Group interviewed Giles Ogram, senior infrastructure engineer. This is how Giles describes his role:

“I am one of the senior infrastructure engineers. My primary role is on the storage side of things so on a day-to-day basis, I keep a high level overview of what’s happening with the storage. I’ve been with Helphire for a year and a half. I was brought in to basically take over the management of the SAN and to ensure that it’s managed properly progressing forward with the company’s growth.”

The following is an overview of Helphire Group PLC’s IT environment:

  • Windows 2003 and 2008 sixty servers
  • VMware 3.5
  • Twenty-four ESX hosts
  • Two hundred production servers
  • Two hundred virtual machines
  • Exchange 2003
  • SQL 2000, 2003 and 2008
  • Fifty-five terabytes of storage in production environment
  • Forty terabytes of storage at the DR location
