Thank you Gilda. The good and bad news is there are endless real world experiences to draw from (pun intended).

"The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it."
Having worked with the "real" Mr. Atool, and seen his ego in action, I can say that you've done an admirable job of capturing only the tip of what is an enormous iceberg of deceit, lies, and misinformation spewed into the world by him.
That said, don't waste your time on him, Tony.
Just like your former boss at another 3-letter organization, let's call him "Mr. Duplicitous", Mr. Atool is a loathsome creature, and the time and energy you spend with thoughts of him, you risk corrupting and weakening yourself.
These men will enjoy their own fates, when karma leaves them old, alone, angry, with no one, and nothing left but their precious material wealth.

Chameleon - in the end this is satire and is supposed to make you laugh and think. Believe it or not - Mr. Atool is a composite of a number people I have known in and out of the IT industry. Having said that - I admit the current manifestation of Mr. Atool may have timely inspiration.
As far as my former boss goes - if I got it right - I do disagree with your views. I think he is a great guy - albeit with strengths and weaknesses - for which he will be the first to admit. But that does bring up the point - our views of people are subjective and not fact.
There may be those that attack me and that may feel attacked by me. But in the end we don't really know each that personally or deeply. I have no idea what karma has in store for anyone - and life is dynamic and people change.
Interestingly, how many blogs about IT have this type of dialog?
One more question - did it make you laugh and did it make you think?

Chris - To quote Homer Simpson: "It's funny cause it's true."

Hey Tony - I'm going to have to point to this from my HP blog. I only wish I could add to the stories with my experience with LBS and our former relationship with them. Alas, they will be stories that remain private.
And again, glad your back in the storage game! It's kind of like a drug or maybe like fresh blood to some!

Calvin - I appreciate the feedback. Many of us have had an LBS or two in our careers. Like the Atool character LBS is a composite and not specifically one company - but again - if the shoe fits...
Thanks for the words of confidence. More to come :)

he's 'Yuck Balless' on storagesanity, but it's the same tool. He doesn't even rate a place in the Hall of Shame...it takes integrity to get in there...
